What I learned from reading books

Lately this 100 books a year gimmick is on heat. And I personally find it useless, it just like studying a night before exam and forgetting it all the next day. It only wastes your time and some little precious Brian cells.  Why do I think that? And what I actually learned from reading books. 1. Change of point of view through VR Reading book is actually a fascinating experience, it is far more impactful than a movie for when you see something happening, you can change just say “I can see that man dying with grave expressions”  But with reading you can actually feel the pain if only the book is written well and if you get comfortable with that view you would ultimately start to experience it in the regular daily life. As per the non fiction teaches you a lot, in fact I find them quite helpful and revolutionary, have you ever seen those super productive YouTubers from Harvard or Cambridge. Well at some extent they get those ideas and way of thinking from non fiction books beca...

How i study for my exams

Hello smart people, exams are pretty, you can score good only if either you are a golden child or if you face it proper strategy, but sometimes its execution is also important. Today I am going to talk about my way of studying. Remember it is not how I deal with exam although I have talked a little about that too. As a part of this post, so sit tight go through the whole article, like the subscribe button above and share

1.) the art of war

The first step before any fight, Is to know your enemy.
     • The First thing that I do is that I create a check list, where I write down everything that I have to study. Everything! To be specific and I check the topic or concepts as I get assured that I clear with that specific concept.
     • I get through the exam pattern and its difficulty level, and try to solve its practice paper.
     • I read every chapter first as quick as I can, after that I read it again while actually paying attention to it and marking out the important stuff.  I do not usually show mercy on book.  And Highlight everything down.

2.) Environment

My study environment is highly personalized; it is especially designed according to my need.
Concentrating on books is pretty hard for me because of the random thoughts which come in my mind out of nowhere, you will not know , when your one hour have had been passed already with your book open in front of you while your mind was dreaming about being batman.

To avoid such situation, I cancel the silence, silence is the reason my mind gets uncomfortable. So I use white noise on my Bluetooth speaker.

My white noise is mostly a sound of winds or of the sound forest sometimes, Hans Zimmer. although this
is really effective. And it helps me sit on my chair with proper attention for hours.

    • Next thing that I keep in mind is my study table. I like to keep my study table clean and organized. Though it does get messy that is why I clean it every weekend. A well-organized table leads to the organized mind.

3.) Use notes to save time

Notes are pretty important, I am not talking about ones you got on phone or a page of imprinted words but solid papers written in my handwriting.

      • When I go to college, there are some teachers who are really good at teaching and some are just there to be called teacher on whose class students usually sleep since they are depending about o self-study. Well you are losing a lot here.

whatsoever 1 hour of class is big interval, and the teacher even if useless can become useful, see your institute(university, college or school) must have Selected him or her for something  of course, the teacher is full of knowledge all you have to do is to learn how get that information out of his or her head.

what I do, in fact what a lot of smart kids do is that they read the topic before the class with that they get an idea of the topic, when teachers arrives and starts ranting, all they do revise unlike others who are trying to understand and sadly the teacher is not good in explaining.  While revising all you have to do, is to listen to him, he is just like Google text-to-speech. It does matter he is explaining well or not because you do not need explanation.

      • I write notes; I do not write another book. I keep it short as I can; I use symbols as much as I can instead of pure words. Since my mind grabs those symbols more easily than letters.
While stating topics or sub topics I try to take graphical approach. Just so that my mind grabs it easily.
Remember your brain will eat the information if you will feed it the right way.

4.) Take a pill. Take a break

Okay I accept it, I am not a genius I cannot sit even an hour without tilting my head from the book, and hence I got to try there
      • Well this trick has a particular name, and it is quite popular one in fact I found it when I was surfing on net myself. What exactly you do is that you give yourself a time break, at particular interval.

IT is like you study for 30 min then you take a break for 5 mins. And in those five minutes you shall do anything you like. I mostly check out memes though avoid social communication.

Be punctual with that, leave the pen after the thirty minutes are over at the exact moment same with next five minutes.

By following that process you will get pretty good refreshment from study, and a firm determination.

      • Speaking of refreshment; I like to refresh my body time to time as well. I usually study with a water bottle, and i drink a lot then usually I do in that specific time period.
It keeps my mind and body hydrated.

Another thing is, I like to have a packet of biscuits with me not junk food or something healthy. Just some handy biscuits. To my stomach and tongue satisfied

5.) The week before final battle

Last thing I do is practice. I practice recalling the stuff to mark the holes.

    • There is something which is popularly known as cheat sheet. You must have heard it before if you are a nerd.
Specifically it is a sheet with the topics which are about to come in exam, written on it, I write them on it such that they fit on one or two sheets, with a brief summary of each.

Then I go through it only for rest of my days, no notes or books until necessary. I try to describe keep topic from that sheet, and see where do I lack, then i open my notes to fill that hole, boom maybe I just saved an answer for exam.
That is how it goes.
     • I practice the question paper and keep revising through my cheat sheets, you see because they are only of two pages I can go through whole syllabus in minutes.

That is it. that is how I study for an exams at particular. Obviously you should do some changes in it or you can follow it as it is written if you find it suitable for yourself. Best of luck, have great day
